Getting found on Google, Maps, Shopping and AI answers
I work on how your business shows up in Google search (SEO), on Google Maps, in Google Shopping and in AI answers. Every week, inside your own tools, I fix what stops Google and AI assistants from reading, understanding and trusting your business.
Google search (SEO)
When someone searches for what you sell or do, Google shows the pages it has read and judged most useful. A page can only compete if Google can reach it, read it and tell what it is about.
What I do in Google search
I rewrite page titles and descriptions so each page says plainly what it offers. I add structured data, labels in the code that tell Google what is a product, a price or the business itself. I keep the sitemap, Google’s list of your pages, current.
Then I fix the pages Google cannot read: pages blocked by an old setting, text that only appears after scripts run, the same page at several addresses, and links that lead nowhere.
Signs Google search needs work
- A search for your business name does not show your own site near the top.
- Google shows your pages with odd titles, or with text pulled from a pop-up.
- Pages you published months ago still do not appear in Google.
Google Maps and your Google Business Profile
Search for a service nearby and Google often shows a map and a short list of businesses before any website. Each entry is a Google Business Profile (once called Google My Business): name, category, hours, phone number, photos, reviews and posts. For local service businesses, this is often where a call starts.
What I do on your Business Profile
I set the categories to match what you actually do, and keep hours, holiday hours, phone number, website link and service areas correct and the same as on your site.
I add the photos you provide, with plain descriptions, and write short posts when something changes, like new hours or a new service.
Signs your Business Profile needs work
- Your profile shows old hours or an old phone number.
- The main category is close to what you do, but not quite it.
- Callers ask about services your profile never mentions.
- The address or phone number on your site differs from your profile.
Google Shopping and Merchant Center
Google Shopping shows products with a photo, a price and the store’s name, in search results and the Shopping tab. Those listings come from a product feed, a list of every product with its title, price, stock, images and identifiers, sent to Google Merchant Center.
What I do in Merchant Center
I keep the feed clean: titles that say what the product is, prices and stock that match the store, the right category, and identifiers like brand and barcode number (GTIN).
When Merchant Center disapproves products, I read the reason, fix the cause and check that the fix holds. For businesses that sell products, this is often where listings go missing without anyone noticing.
Signs your product feed needs work
- Merchant Center lists disapproved products and nobody knows why.
- Google shows a price or stock level that does not match your store.
- Sizes and colors are missing, or merged into one listing.
AI answers from ChatGPT, Google’s AI and Perplexity
People also ask ChatGPT, Google’s AI and Perplexity what to buy or who to call. These tools read pages on the web and write an answer, sometimes naming a business and linking to it. They can only use what they can reach and understand.
How I make your business easy for AI to quote
I make your pages clear and quotable: direct answers to the questions customers ask, with the facts an assistant needs (what you sell or do, where you work, how to reach you) written as text, not hidden in images.
I check that the crawlers these assistants use are let in, through robots.txt and any security or bot settings, and that the important text is in the page itself, not loaded later by scripts.
Signs AI assistants miss or misread you
- AI crawlers are blocked, and nobody remembers deciding that.
- Assistants describe your business with old or wrong details.
- Key facts live only in images, PDFs or pop-ups.
Can anyone promise a ranking?
No. Google decides what it shows and in what order, and AI assistants decide what they mention. Anyone who promises a position or a mention is promising something they do not control.
What I can do is remove what stops Google and AI assistants from reading, understanding and trusting your business: pages they cannot reach, details that disagree, products they reject, answers they cannot find. Then I keep it that way, because sites, feeds and profiles drift.
How the work runs
I work inside your own tools, with your team, every week, fixing the next most useful thing and checking that earlier fixes still hold.
The work is monthly, from a few hours a week to a full seat on your team, and you can stop with 14 days’ notice. It sits next to the rest of your online side: a fast, clear site or store, automation that answers the calls and quote requests it brings, and a weekly recap.

Questions owners ask
Is this the same as SEO?
Partly. The Google search part is SEO: page titles, descriptions, structured data, sitemaps and fixing pages Google cannot read. Getting found also covers Google Maps, Google Shopping and AI answers. I never promise a ranking in any of them.
Can you promise my business will show up first on Google?
No. Google decides what it shows and in what order. What I do is remove what stops Google from reading, understanding and trusting your pages, and keep it that way every week.
How do I get my business to show up in ChatGPT and other AI answers?
Nobody can promise a mention. What helps: AI crawlers let in, plain answers on your pages, the same details everywhere your business appears, and structured data that says who you are. I work on all of those.
Can you set up Merchant Center if I have never used it?
Yes. Setting up Merchant Center, connecting your store’s product feed and working through the first disapprovals is part of the work. If you already have an account, I start from what is there.
Why are my products disapproved in Merchant Center?
Merchant Center gives a reason for each disapproved product. Often the feed and your store disagree on a price or on stock, or details like brand and barcode number (GTIN) are missing. I read the reason, fix the cause and check that the fix holds.
Will you take photos for my Business Profile?
No. I add the photos you provide, with plain descriptions, and tell you which kinds are missing, like your building, your team at work or your products.
Should I let AI crawlers into my site?
That is your call. AI assistants can only describe and link to your business if they can read your pages. Many sites block them by accident, through a security setting or an old robots.txt rule. I show you what is blocked and set it the way you choose.
